Las Cimarronas faced the host country in the most thrilling match of the day. The Uruguayan team demonstrated from the start their ambition to participate in the upcoming World Cup. Although they started behind on the scoreboard, they managed to equalize thanks to a goal from Sol Amadeo. Later, Milagros Algorta temporarily put Uruguay ahead, but Canada quickly leveled the score. In the second half, Elisa Civetta and again Algorta scored for Uruguay, but Canada managed to equalize thanks to goals from Alison Lee, closing the match with a 4-4 draw.
USA v GUY MEN
The U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team kicked off their 2024 Indoor Pan American Cups campaign against Guyana in Calgary, Canada. Despite a spirited effort from Guyana, USA managed to secure a 5-3 victory in an intense match. Ajai Dhadwal's early goal off a penalty corner gave USA the lead in the first quarter. Despite facing pressure from Guyana, USA held onto their lead, with Jeroen Dijkema extending it with a well-taken chance. Guyana fought back in the third quarter, but USA maintained control, with Dhadwal scoring his second goal. A late surge from Guyana saw them narrow the gap, but USA held firm to claim victory. Jeroen Dijkema marked his first international indoor cap for Team USA in this game.
ARG v CAN MEN
